Air Fryer Chicken Wings are thee best and the crispiest wings ever! It’s ready in less than twenty minutes, and you’ll never want to make wings another way again.
The air fryer takes cooking to another level. It’s so efficient, fast and you’ll get so much more crispiness, you’ll think they are fried.
Let’s prep the chicken wings;
If you have full wings, chop them into drums and flat. Get rid of the pinky finger.
Wash them thoroughly under running water.
Pat them dry with paper towels. This will get the wings crispy.
Place the wings into a bowl and add oil, and seasonings. Toss well to completely coat the wings.
Yes you can make the wings in a conventional oven too. Here’s how:
It does take a bit longer to get them crispy though. Preheat oven to 220 degrees celcius. Bake for 30 minutes, then flip and cook another 15-30 minutes depending on the desired crispiness.
Crispy Juicy Chicken Wings in a Spicy Sticky Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken wings (drums and flats - cleaned & patted dry)
- 1 tbs oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp ginger powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- Sauce for Chicken Wings
- 2 tbs maple syrup
- 2 tbs Franks Red Hot sauce (similar to our chicken licken sauce in SA 🙂
- 1 tbs soy sauce
- 1 tsp chili flakes
- 1 tsp mixed herbs or thyme or mint
Instructions
- Place the wings into a bowl and drizzle the oil over them. Add the spices, salt and black pepper. Toss the wings to completely coat them.
- Preheat the Air Fryer at 200 degrees celcius for 2 minutes. Add the wings in a single layer to the air fryer (they should not be touching or overlapping) and cook for 10 minutes at 200 degrees celcius.
- After the timer goes off, open and carefully flip over the chicken wings. Cook for another 8 minutes. Remove the chicken wings and serve with your favourite sides.
- Method: Sauce for Chicken Wings
- Add the above ingredients to a saucepan over low heat. Let it simmer until it comes to a slow boil. Remove from heat. Allow to cool off a bit before tossing the cooked wings in it.
