Tender fillet of chicken rubbed with five spices, and pan fried in chili oil. Later it is to be sliced and tossed in a creamy tomato basil sauce and dressed with plenty of cheese. Topped with parmesan cheese and freshly ground black pepper. Delizioso!
This spicy Cajun Chicken Pasta is ridiculously creamy, embodied with a warm spicy flavour, and best of all, it’s cheesy too! This easy pasta dinner, filled with juicy bites of chicken, is perfect to make at home and it only takes 30 minutes.
Cajun chicken is one of hubby’s favourite meals. I love a creamy tomato basil sauce, basically over everything, if possible. Hence this dish is totally perfect because we can have it all. 🙂
From start to finish, this pasta dish takes merely 30 minutes to whip together! It’s so quick, easy and packed with so much of flavour and taste. Serve it with some warm garlic bread and dive right in!

DATE NIGHT PASTA Aka Cajun Chicken Pasta
Ingredients
- 1 chicken fillet
- Olive oil
- 50 g butter
- Chili flakes
- Salt & freshly ground black pepper
- ¼ tsp turmeric
- ½ tsp Kashmiri powder
- ½ tsp cajun or chipotle spice
- ½ tsp ginger garlic paste
- 150 g baby tomatoes
- Fresh basil leaves
- Pouring cream
- 2 cups Rigatoni pasta
- 1 cup Gouda cheese (shredded)
- 2 tbs Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Boil pasta until al dente.
- Save 1/2 cup pasta water.
- Poke a few holes into the chicken fillet. Pour a little olive oil over the fillet. Sprinkle and rub the spices plus ginger garlic paste onto the fillet.
- Heat a cast iron or non-stick pan with olive oil.
- Add a sprinkling of chili flakes.
- When the oil is warm, add the fillet and fry on both sides until cooked through.
- Remove and keep aside.
- In the same pan, add the butter.
- Toss in the tomatoes and allow the tomatoes to burst and cook soft.
- Add a little pasta water as required to thicken the sauce
- Add in the basil leaves and sliced chicken.
- Pour in the cream and dress with plenty of cheese.
- Sprinkle Parmesan cheese and freshly ground black pepper
