Welcome to What Paz Likes, a family cooking and baking blog which started in Centurion, Pretoria, South Africa, and now based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada! 

Apart from being a foodie enthusiast, I am a legal professional by day with an LLB degree qualification from South Africa. Most of all, I’m a wife to my best friend, my hubby! It’s like having a pyjama party with your bestie, every night. My hubby is usually the analytical, sensible one, meaning that I’m the fiesty, spontaneous type, always up for an adventure, and that includes shopping. 🙂

Then I’m a boy mom, living in a boys world doing the strangest and most venturesome stuff. My boys are all grown up, my oldest son has completed his university education and is one of the smartest Software Developers, I know. My youngest is currently in university studying Software Engineering.  Guess you can tell that I’m a proud mama rooting for my boys. 

We also have two fur children, Autumn – a lovely cocker spaniel girl that shies away from crowds and then our big little boss, Shiloh! A cute yorkie boy with so much of enthusiasm and love for life! Did I mention that he is the needy one, Mama’s boy!

My boys love their food and on time too! They are my best food critics, always encouraging me to cook better in the shortest time possible so you will find that all my food and baking recipes are very close to heart. They stem from family recipes handed down or inspiration drawn from tastes of foods from around the globe and curated to suit my family’s needs. In a nutshell, quick, easy and tasty!

Hence, all my recipes and food from both my books and blog pages are a voyage of food flair that is flamboyant and sapid, with an Indian and global influence. It is food that consists of tasty vegetarian, piquant chicken, and flavoursome lamb dishes, not forgetting my scrumptious baking and decadent desserts and drinks.

My aim is that you will be excited and devoted to bring something new and tasty to your table using my home cooking and baking recipes and ideas.

I hope this enthuses you to spend more time in the kitchen and find it impressively rewarding and satisfying when you share plates with those around your table. I believe that connectivity will always remain life’s greatest joy. A pleasure taken for granted, now more than other times, we appreciate it’s worth. Wealth in its finest form!

Baking has been my contemporary playground. My spiffing baked and bake-free desserts are inclusive of lip-smacking drinks. The recipes are of a kind that is fuss-free, simple, yet elegant, which tastes better eaten with friends and family. If you’re looking for a little more on the grand side, a cake with layers, rich creamy frosting and striking decor, it is here too!

I am pleased to announce the publication and launch of my soft cover cookbook which has been released in 2020. Cooking Memorable Food With Paz! It is audaciously bold with its vibrant and gratifying food recipes and photography. All the recipes and photographs are my own, cooked and photographed in my home.
