Sift the dry ingredients together except for the cocoa.
Using a handheld machine or stand mixer, whip up the butter, sugar, eggs & vanilla extract.
Fold in the dry ingredients and add in the milk
Divide the batter between two bowls & sift the cocoa into one of the bowls
Fold in to combine
Alternate the white and brown batter into a greased baking loaf pan
Using a toothpick or wooden skewer, create swirls in the batter.
Bake at 180°C for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted, comes out clean.
Allow to cool completely before removing from cake pan.
Whilst loaf is baking, make the chocolate sauce by heating up the cream over low heat.
Break the chocolate into the cream and stir to blend in. Add in the vanilla extract.
When ready to serve, pour the chocolate sauce over the cake loaf.
