This is my go-to-bread-buns, not only because it’s so simple and makes even the basic bun sandwich, something to look forward to, it is also the last bread bun recipe we will ever need. The inside is plush and pillowy soft with a crackle of sesame seeds on a deeply glossy top. So, don’t be intimidated, they’re not half as complicated as they look. It is one of my favourite recipes because the results are unparalleled, bringing on unhinged happiness every time. Slathered with a non-negotiable dollop of butter, trickling down the sides of the freshly baked buns, the most obsessive thing in my kitchen at the moment!
The kitchen smells wickedly divine whilst the buns are baking, yielding a warm comforting feeling in my tummy. It makes the feel of home, extra special.
Hubby enjoyed tearing the bread buns into dunkable pieces and dipped them into an olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette. He was beside himself with joy! 😀😋
I use my stand mixer and let the dough hook do the kneading for me. I also use instant yeast and it all couldn’t get any easier. It’s basically the best thing ever. However, if you prefer to knead by hand, that is totally fine.
It’s always good to make your bread buns the same size because it ensures even cooking.
Check the rolls at around 13 minutes. If they are starting to darken beyond what you would prefer, place a piece of foil over the top. I let mine cook through to 13 minutes without the foil. It all depends on the oven heating as well. All ovens are different.
Don’t forget to brush with melted butter. This is what gives the top of the bread buns that beautiful colour. This part is totally non-negotiable.
These bread buns are light, pillowy, and impossible to resist. It’s all homemade with just a handful of simple ingredients you most probably have lying around, and they can be on your table in a flash.
So let’s get started.
