TIKKA MASALA FISH & CHIPS WITH LEMON BUTTER SAUCE

Keep calm and fish on Monday.
Inspired by the delicious fish and chips we devoured during our holiday, here is a simple yet comforting fish and chips with a lemony butter sauce. It needs only a simple green salad and good company.

I made both the fish and the chips using the @instantpot air fryer. It is a quick and easy way, as you end with crisp edges, and a tender and flaky centre. Utter perfection.

Did I mention that this dish is gluten free?!
I used hake fillets which has a mild flavour and cooks quickly too. It is also inexpensive.
I used rice flour to lightly coat the fish which also helps with the crisp finish.
This is a wonderful alternative to a deep fry fish.
It’s a lot healthier too.

I use spices that I already have in my pantry. If you don’t have exactly the same, you can switch and play with ones that you do have. Otherwise you will find the spices readily available at most Indian spice stores.

I used the frozen McCain skinny fries, drizzled lightly with olive oil and popped them into the air fryer for 20 minutes at 200C, turning them halfway through cooking.

For the lemon butter sauce, I melted butter, added freshly squeezed lemon juice and a crushed clove of garlic. You may add as much garlic to your preference.
